Precautions for PE pipe installation
Whether the installation is correct not only determines whether the equipment can work correctly, but also has an impact on its performance. PE pipes are generally installed underground and require not only planning but also careful inspection after installation to avoid any usage issues. If the PE pipe is installed in a very qualified and standardized manner, its service life will also be increased.
PE pipes have lower hardness and lower rigidity than metal pipes, and should be protected during transportation and construction to avoid mechanical damage caused by inappropriate external forces. After concealed installation, the position of the pipeline should be marked to prevent secondary decoration from damaging the pipeline. And except for mechanical connection methods such as threaded inserts or flanges used to connect with metal pipes or water dispensers, all others should be connected by hot melt to integrate the pipeline without any leakage points. PE pipes have low-temperature brittleness below 5 ℃, so be careful during winter construction. When cutting pipes, use sharp knives to cut slowly. Installed pipelines should not be subjected to heavy pressure or knocking, and protective materials should be used to cover areas that are susceptible to external forces.
The coefficient of linear expansion of the equipment is relatively large, and technical measures must be taken to prevent pipeline expansion and deformation when installing exposed or non directly buried concealed pipes. After pipeline installation, pressure testing is required before sealing and covering the decorative layer. The pressure test of the cold water pipe shall be 1.5 times the working pressure of the system, but not less than 1MPa; The test pressure for hot water pipes shall be twice the working pressure, but not less than 1.5MPa.
Installation should also be based on the specific installation season, such as winter when the temperature is relatively low. Therefore, special attention should be paid to the installation of PE pipes in order to protect the correct installation of the equipment.
