Types of PE pipes
In our construction and municipal engineering, PE pipes are often used, but their various types may also cause some difficulties for customers who are not yet familiar with PE pipes. Here, we will share with you how many types of PE pipes we know.
Firstly, PE, also known as polyethylene, is a high-quality pipe material that can replace ordinary water supply pipes due to its high strength, high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, non toxicity, wear resistance, and non rusting and corrosion resistance.
1. Water supply PE pipe
PE pipes for water supply are the replacement products of traditional steel pipes and polyvinyl chloride drinking water pipes;
2. PE pipes for coal mines (MPE100 grade)
PE coal mine pipes have good flame retardant and anti-static properties, all of which meet the standard requirements. The underground service life exceeds 20 years, with significant economic benefits, impact resistance, wear resistance, and dual resistance effects. In coal mining enterprises, the advantages of easy installation and long service life of HDPE mining pipes cannot be replaced during underground operations;
3. Discharge PE pipe
PE pipes for sewage discharge, also known as high-density polyethylene pipes, are commonly referred to as HDPE in English. This type of pipe is often used as municipal engineering pipe, mainly in the sewage treatment industry. Due to its characteristics of wear resistance, acid resistance, corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, and high pressure resistance, it has gradually replaced traditional pipes such as steel pipes and cement pipes in the market;
4. PE-RT polyethylene pipe
PE pipes strictly follow the provisions of the new standard GB/T13663-2000, which specifies different levels of PE80 and PE100 corresponding to different pressure strengths for water supply pipes. The tensile strength performance in the old standard is removed, and the elongation at break (greater than 350%) is added. Customers can choose with confidence.
